We are definitely not to be the only ones thinking about houseplants when it comes to Valentine’s day gifts (see our blog post from last year about they plants are great Valentines gifts!).

What better way to express your love and appreciation than choosing a plant with heart shaped leaves. There are many of them out there, but here is a list with our favourite ones that are easy to care for:

  1. Hoya kerrii

    AKA: The Sweetheart Plant.

Each leaf of the Hoya kerrii is a lucky charm. Gift it to someone special to symbolise good luck and enduring friendship. Get gifting to your pal/mom/sister/partner!

  2. Philodendron scandens

    AKA: Heart leaf philodendron.

Beyond its heart-shaped leaves, this Philodendron purifies the air, making it an ideal gift to breathe fresh life into your home and relationships.

  3. Anthurium

    AKA: flamingo plant.

Not only the leaves, but the “flowers” are heart shaped too. Actually it has colourful modified leaves around the flower spike and that makes this plant so attractive.

  4. Ceropegia woodii

    AKA: String of hearts.

Delicate looking beauty with little underground tuber where it stores water, so it will survive a bit of neglect.

  5. Syngonium

    AKA: arrowhead plant.

The leaves on this plant mature from heart shaped to arrow like. Perhaps Cupid’s arrows?
