The Chlorophytum Comosom (Spider Plant) is incredibly adaptable and easy to grow, so perfect for beginners & those wanting to dip their toes into plant propagation.

Water

These plants thrive on neglect, thus best for the soil to almost dry out between watering. When watering let the water drain through, water less in the winter months. These plants are very forgiving if over or under watered.

Light

Although it is able to adapt, it is best suited in bright indirect light to semi-shade – if placed in low light conditions it may run the risk of losing its variegation. Avoid direct sunlight as this can cause the leaves to scorch.

Temperature

Spider plants prefer a medium to high humidity and can be placed in nearly any environment, but try to avoid cold drafts. Misting the plant occasionally will help!

Feed

Use a liquid fertilizer once a month during the spring and summer months to encourage new growth.

A little extra…

The Spider plant is an easy growing evergreen houseplant originating from the Tropics and southern parts of Africa. A more mature plant will produce plantlets (aka spider babies!) from the main plant which can easily be propagated. This plant is non-toxic making it safe for curious pets and young children.
